 Annabelle's French Toast
 
 
8   eggs  
½ pint    half-and-half  
  cinnamon, to taste  
  nutmeg, to taste  
  ginger, to taste  
  salt, to taste  
2 Tbs    triple sec, or to taste (or other orange-flavored liqueur)  
8   slices French bread  
  sweet butter  
  maple syrup  
  whipped cream  
  fresh strawberries  
  slivered almonds  
 
1 Beat together eggs and half-and-half.
2 Add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt.
3 Add a splash (two tablespoons or to taste) Triple Sec.
4 Thoroughly soak bread in mixture.
5 Pan-fry in butter until golden.
6 Serve hot, topped with maple syrup (preferably pure maple syrup) and whipped cream.
7 Garnish with strawberries and slivered almonds.
